Will My Vehicle Be Able To Tow?
Ensure your truck’s hitch receiver is rated for the weight. Many factory hitches on older or lighter trucks are only rated for 5,000 or 10,000 lbs. You will need a Class IV or Class V hitch for the 14k trailers.
While the trailers have 7-pin connectors, your vehicle must have an active electric brake controller installed to engage the trailer's braking system. Without it, you will not be able to stop safely.
Ensure your 2-5/16" ball is stamped with a weight rating that meets or exceeds the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). We can provide a 6" drop hitch rated for 26,000 pounds if requested in advance.
Testimonials
Most modern 1/4 ton trucks are capable of towing around 10,000 pounds and all of our units are under that weight. You have to factor in the weight of your load aside from the weight of the trailer and confirm the towing capacity for your truck. We can help you figure out exactly what you can tow when booking
7k Car Hauler:
Most half-ton trucks, such as an F-150 or Silverado 1500, can handle this trailer when properly equipped.
14k Equipment / Dump Trailers:
These trailers generally require a 3/4-ton (2500 series) or 1-ton (3500 series) truck. A fully loaded 14,000 lb trailer exceeds the legal and mechanical limits of almost all light-duty pickup trucks.
